Get to know each part of working in the ANGLO Team at one of our summer centres, from start to finish
β οΈ An Enhanced DBS certificate is mandatory for all ANGLO staff. We deliver attractive, quality programmes and show our students that learning a language and exploring a new country are fun! Our summer positions last from 2 to 10 weeks between June and August. Be part of a close-knit team and work with young people from around the world in a fast-moving, rewarding and multicultural learning environment. Recruitment & Documents
In order to be eligible to work for ANGLO, you must have the Right to Work 40+ hours per week in the UK between June and August, and agree to acquire an enhanced DBS certificate (or provide us with your DBS Update Service details)
Application - you apply to work with ANGLO via our Careers Site (ANGLO is an Equal Opportunities employer: read our Diversity & Inclusivity Policy)

Interview - one of our Heads of Department invites you to an online interview
Job offer - you receive a job offer with details of your position and working location
Candidate profile and essential documents - you need to complete your Candidate Profile on our Recruitment Portal and upload documents such as your passport, qualifications, references and next of kin information (these documents are stored safely, in line with GDPR requirements
48 hour opt out - signing and returning this document allows you to work more than 48 hours in a week. Read more
Enhanced DBS - everybody working with children in the UK must hold a valid, current enhanced DBS certificate. If you don't already have one, we take you through the process. Read our DBS Check Procedure
Contract - once we have your completed profile, essential documents and your DBS, we issue you a work contract
Training - before you arrive at centre, there is some online training to attend. See more below
2. Onboarding & Training
Training - every ANGLO Team member needs to do the following essential training (paid)
Read Staff Handbook - the ANGLO Employee Handbook is for all employees and details your rights, rules and regulations, expenses, contract types and more
Safeguarding learning & training - keeping staff and students safe is a top priority; all our staff must complete British Council safeguarding training, and you receive a certificate proving your completion of the course
Read Role Manual - you need to read the carefully curated Manual for your job role; this gives you as much understanding of your role as possible before you arrive at your centre
Starter Checklist - this document lets us pay you; you tell us your preferred bank account, student loans details, if you have a P45 etc.
Arrival information - we send you all the information you'll need to arrive at centre; the location, date/time, your line manager's contact details
Arrive and start working - arrive and meet the rest of your team in person
Induction & on-site training - in the first couple of days you are given induction and training by your line manager to help you excel in your roleΒ
3. Working at Centre
During your time working with ANGLO, your day to day interaction is with your colleagues and managers at your centre. You can reach out to your line manager for support, however your Head Office Recruitment Manager is on hand should you require.Β
In the first few days, before students arrive*, you will take part in induction, training and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions to prepare you for performing your role in the best possible way once students arrive.Β
Each week you complete a timesheet which your manager submits to Head Office for processing and payment.
*Β If you begin your contract midway through the centre's operational period, students will already be on campus. Your induction and training will still take place, and will partly involve shadowing your colleagues4. Finishing Work (Offboarding)
Pre-Departure Information - before you finish working at your centre we let you know everything you need to plan your journey home
Staff Feedback - in order to keep improving our processes and services we ask all our ANGLO Team members to give us feedback on their experiences
Finish contract and leave centre πͺ
Travel Expense Claims - shortly after your contract finishes we send you instructions on how to claim your travel expenses (for residential staff)
